Unveiling of the Poster for the 13th National "Rooiesh" Festival
The unveiling ceremony for the poster of the 13th National "Rooiesh" Festival was held in the presence of the Deputy Minister for Cultural Affairs of the Ministry of Science and the President of the University of Kurdistan, the designated host for the thirteenth edition.
According to the University of Kurdistan Public Relations Department, citing the Ministry of Science’s Cultural Deputy, Dr. Vahid Shalchi, Deputy Minister for Cultural and Social Affairs of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, emphasized the pivotal role of cultural associations as essential platforms for the social education of students. He characterized the Rooiesh Festival as a symbol of cultural dynamism within universities, stating: "This national event serves as an arena for showcasing creativity, successful experiences, and the responsible participation of students in cultural, artistic, and social spheres."
He further added that the visual identity of the thirteenth edition has been designed with an approach toward strengthening national identity, incorporating symbols of Kurdistan and the National Rooiesh Festival. Its objectives include fostering a sense of academic belonging, enhancing social capital, and demonstrating the innovative capacities of student associations, aiming to narrate the progressive movement of cultural activities within the higher education system.
During the ceremony, the necessity for synergy among universities, the networking of cultural activists, and targeted support for student projects and ideas were underscored. It was announced that the festival’s secretariat would facilitate the extensive participation of cultural, artistic, religious, and social associations from universities nationwide through the issuance of specialized calls and programs.
The National "Rooiesh" Festival is recognized as the largest event for university cultural associations, organized to identify and introduce successful models of student activity, strengthen social participation skills, and expand the cultural ecosystem within universities.
