According to the Public Relations Office of the University of Kurdistan, new appointments have been made in two key strategic areas through separate decrees issued by the University President.
New Director Appointed for the Center for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance
Based on the issued decree, Dr. Farhad Vafaei, a faculty member of the Department of Business Management, has been appointed as the "Director of the Center for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance of the University of Kurdistan and Provincial Higher Education" for a two-year term, effective October 4, 2025, in recognition of his commitment, expertise, and valuable experience.
The decree identifies the Center as a strategic and influential unit responsible for steering the processes of evaluation and enhancing the university's academic accreditation. Its primary missions include designing a comprehensive monitoring system, continuously assessing university performance, guiding self-assessment processes to improve national and international rankings, and fostering a culture of quality within the university.
Sincere appreciation and gratitude were also extended to Dr. Asad Vaziri for his dedicated efforts and services during his tenure in this role.
New Head Appointed for the Department of Horticultural Sciences
In another appointment, Dr. Jalal Khorshidi, a faculty member of the Department of Horticultural Sciences, has been appointed as the "Head of the Department of Horticultural Sciences," based on his capabilities and academic experience.
The decree emphasizes the necessity for synergy, quantitative and qualitative enhancement of teaching and research, and the comprehensive development of the department.
Appreciation was also expressed for the valuable services of Dr. Yavar Vafaei, the former head of the department.
