Student Day Commemorated at the University of Kurdistan: A Symbol of Awareness and Justice

According to the Public Relations Office of the University of Kurdistan, Dr. Adel Si-o-seh-mardeh, President of the university, congratulated the students and stated: "The university's mission—namely science, research, and innovation—is contingent upon a free and independent society." He described students as the "seeing eye of society." Referring to economic challenges and rising costs, he added that the university is striving to manage the difficult conditions. Citing two verses from the Holy Quran, Dr. Si-o-seh-mardeh highlighted the exalted status of knowledge and faith and the necessity of listening to diverse perspectives to choose the best path. He also underscored the importance of artificial intelligence and the country's potential for progress in this field.

Subsequently, student organizations issued statements calling for greater attention to the university and its academic and cultural environment.

Ali Akbar Varmeghani, the Deputy Governor for Political, Security, and Social Affairs, then explained that scheduling conflicts prevented the Governor's attendance and assured that the students' demands would be conveyed to him. He pointed to the historic role of the Iranian nation and students in the struggles leading to the Islamic Revolution, as well as the importance of national unity, particularly in the recent "12-day war." He went on to address national challenges such as the energy imbalance, drought, and inflation, emphasizing the need for scientific management and collaboration with universities. "The Islamic Republic's foreign policy is founded on the principles of 'dignity, wisdom, and expediency'," he added. The Deputy Governor concluded by outlining the government's priorities for Kurdistan province, including completing unfinished projects, job creation, infrastructure development, extending the railway to the Bashmaq border, and planning for a dry port.
