According to the Public Relations Office, Dr. Adel Si-o-seh-mordeh, President of the University of Kurdistan, presented a report on the state of research, identifying the decline of research's share of the GDP to 0.3% as a serious challenge. He went on to announce the university's recent achievements, including growth in scientific publications, increased international collaborations, the selection of 23 faculty members among the world's most cited researchers, and the inclusion of nine individuals in the top one percent list by the Ministry of Science. He also highlighted securing over five billion Tomans in research funding and registering 65 projects with the Iran National Science Foundation as recent successes.

Dr. Kiumars Habibi, the Deputy Governor for Civil Affairs, emphasized the necessity of aligning research with the province's actual needs. He listed the shortage of educational spaces, unbalanced urban growth, road hazards, scarcity of irrigated lands, and the large number of unfinished projects as the main challenges facing the province. He also stressed the importance of completing key projects such as the dry port and the health city.

Subsequently, Dr. Bahman Bahramnezhad, the Vice President for Research and Innovation at the University of Kurdistan, reported on the growth of research and technology in the province. According to his report, the improvement in the international rankings of universities, increased activity of technology companies, development of incubator centers, growth in publications and research projects, and the presence of provincial researchers on top global lists all indicate significant progress in research and technology in Kurdistan over the past year.
